Senior Cost Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Work closely with project sponsors and stakeholder groups to comprehend the project scope.

• Create both parametric and detailed estimates for capital projects.

• Utilize parametric estimating tools to produce estimates in accordance with AACE estimate class requirements for substation and transmission initiatives.

• Employ estimating templates to generate assembly-level cost assessments based on detailed scope and 30–50% engineering design.

• Identify modifications to parametric estimating tools to enhance data usability for project scheduling and cost management.

• Analyze estimates against actual project costs to refresh and update data within the parametric estimating tool.

• Revise cost data to support the structure of the enterprise estimating system and collaborate with developers on its implementation.

• Enhance estimate coordination to prevent duplication, clarify ownership, and avoid overlaps in scope.

• Provide training to estimators on revised tools, especially those contracted.

• Aid in developing standard work instructions for project scoping and estimating.

• Participate in client and company meetings as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 10 years of professional cost estimating experience in creating estimate packages for design and construction.

• Experience in estimating construction projects for energy utilities and/or civil estimating for above/below grade work.

• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Knowledgeable in AACE Cost Engineering Practices and the TCM framework.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

• Capability to utilize estimating software to generate cost estimates and complete the QAQC process.

• Less than 10% on-site travel is required.

• Familiarity with Enterprise Estimating Systems such as Sage is advantageous.

• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma process improvement methodologies is a plus.
