Senior Controls Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Commission, program, and establish graphics and communication links, conduct comprehensive testing, troubleshoot, and manage assigned projects.

• Document point-to-point verification, validate the sequence of operations, and fulfill job closeout requirements.

• Act as the primary customer liaison while servicing products and equipment on designated projects.

• Diagnose, identify, and repair equipment and systems at customer sites.

• Collaborate with the team leader and customer to comprehend on-site installation and repair needs.

• Review building layouts, anticipate potential issues, collect materials, and synchronize on-site activities.

• Stay updated on Trane products and direct digital control systems, including installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.

• Uphold rigorous safety standards.

• Ensure the security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets by documenting their use, wear, and condition.

• Be prepared to work overtime and weekends as necessary, including occasional overnight stays.

• Commute from home most workdays and perform tasks on-site at customer locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or a certificate of completion from an accredited technical school is required.

• Generally requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in HVAC/Controls.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

• Competent in using a handheld computer, such as a smartphone or iPad.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months.

• No significant or frequent traffic violations, including DUI, hit and run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, multiple minor infractions, or preventable collisions in the last 3 years.

• Previous experience with DDC control systems is preferred.

• Must legally and safely operate a vehicle while using a seat belt.

• Must be equipped to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harnesses, and safety boots.

• Must be able to twist the torso 90 degrees in each direction.

• Must be able to squat and reach the floor with both hands.

• Must be able to extend hands overhead.

• Must be capable of standing on concrete surfaces for extended periods, typically up to 4 hours.

• Regularly utilize hands and fingers, and engage in walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders.

• Frequently lift or move up to 40 lbs., occasionally lift or move more than 40 lbs., and routinely lift or move up to 10 lbs.

• Must be able to safely use a ladder with a 375 lb. total weight limit while carrying equipment weighing 50 lbs. or less.

• Must be able to navigate confined access spaces as small as 30” vertical x 45” horizontal.

• Must frequently access rooftops using extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15–20 feet and occasionally up to 50+ feet.

• Ability to work in various weather conditions, around moving mechanical parts, at heights, with electrical shock risks, noisy equipment, and other changing environmental factors.

• This is a safety-sensitive position and may require additional drug screening.
