This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a designated team while also functioning as a key individual contributor.
• Deliver outsourced controllership, advisory services, and strategic guidance to clients.
• Lead and mentor the accounting teams for the clients assigned to you.
• Provide coaching to staff, offer timely feedback, and perform reviews.
• Comprehend the distinct business and accounting requirements of each client.
• Offer strategic leadership to facilitate scalable accounting operations.
• Ensure that internal control systems, policies, and procedures are adhered to consistently.
• Manage the month-end closing process and issue monthly financial reports to clients.
• Collaborate with client leadership on both operational and strategic decisions.
• Address accounting inquiries and requests, outlining appropriate actions, scope, prioritization, and delegation.
• Formulate annual client budgets and maintain tools for cash forecasting.
• Monitor budget performance and provide insights for necessary budget adjustments.
• Create and assess financial and operational metrics, as well as KPI dashboards.
• Identify budget variances and communicate significant discrepancies to clients.
• Analyze financial and operational data, offering valuable recommendations.
• Recognize trends, risks, and opportunities for growth.
• Provide actionable insights to senior leadership for informed strategic decision-making.
• Conduct regular conference calls with clients to discuss strategy, needs, and operational changes.
• Collect tax-related information for the preparation of external tax returns.
• Coordinate the provision of information for external annual audits or reviews.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting obligations.
• Review and approve monthly and quarterly tax submissions.
• Complete special projects as requested by clients.
• Report to an Assistant Director.
• Experience in outsourced accounting with applicable knowledge in accounting and financial analysis for businesses in the $5M to $25M range.
• A minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience.
• An adaptable leadership style with a strong commitment to mentoring staff.
• Proven ability to actively manage accounting functions for small to medium-sized businesses.
• Comfortable with change and capable of adjusting priorities as needed.
• Possess a technical and analytical mindset; adept at resolving complex issues and devising creative solutions.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Outstanding organizational capabilities and adeptness at multitasking daily, weekly, and monthly priorities.
• Significant experience with NetSuite and various accounting software packages.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
• High level of computer literacy.
• Willingness to travel when necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA license, CMA, or MBA is preferred.
