Controller, Finance Site Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete general ledger closing process for specified sites and entities.

• Ensure the thoroughness of close checklists and conduct timely post-close reviews and analyses.

• Assist in continuous improvement and standardization efforts within accounting.

• Conduct P&L and balance sheet analyses, providing commentary and variance explanations.

• Collaborate with hospital leadership on post-close analysis, reporting, and operational reviews, including hospital MORs.

• Act as the primary accounting point of contact for assigned facilities during the closing process.

• Engage with Technical Accounting and hospital operations leaders regarding complex accounting treatments and challenges.

• Supervise joint venture accounting, reporting, and distribution processes.

• Assist in the annual budgeting process.

• Ensure the adequacy of internal controls and the integrity of the accounting system.

• Lead post-close review processes and periodic balance sheet evaluations.

• Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analyses for the general ledger.

• Coordinate with external stakeholders to provide necessary financial reports and information.

• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance while performing other assigned tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in healthcare finance/accounting, including recent leadership roles in hospital accounting.

• Acute care hospital experience is highly preferred.

• Experience supporting complex, multi-facility healthcare systems, integrated delivery networks, or large hospital operations is preferred.

• Capability to work independently in a high-visibility environment with limited onboarding and oversight.

• Ability to collaborate directly with hospital CEOs, COOs, department directors, and operational leadership teams.

• Proven experience in leading accounting process enhancements, standardization initiatives, close optimization efforts, and change management within healthcare organizations.

• Proficiency in P&L and balance sheet analysis, revenue valuation, and month-end closing processes.

• Competence in managing reconciliations, journal entries, and post-close reporting.

• Strong grasp of revenue recognition, project and capital accounting, and other essential accounting processes.

• Familiarity with Oracle, EPM, and financial reporting tools.

• Knowledge of RCA and revenue accounting is preferred.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
