Senior Contracts Procurement Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the contract management operations for Instacart and establish partnerships with suppliers.

• Implement a comprehensive procurement contracting strategy, ensuring governance and execution across the enterprise.

• Report directly to the Head of Procurement.

• Lead negotiations on business terms, collaborating with Legal and the Third Party Review (TPRM) team.

• Create and uphold procurement contract policies, playbooks, and templates.

• Keep documentation that supports SOX compliance and internal audit procedures.

• Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including contract cycle times and compliance rates.

• Manage strategic, high-value, and complex contracts throughout the entire procurement contract lifecycle.

• Negotiate Service Level Agreements (SLAs), scope, exit clauses, payment terms, and auto-renewals.

• Collect business requirements and convert them into enforceable contract language.

• Work with Legal to establish criteria and pre-approved clause libraries to minimize redline cycles.

• Maintain fallback positions and escalate redlines that deviate from approved positions for Legal review.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or a related discipline; a JD is highly desirable.

• Over 10 years of experience in procurement and contract management.

• Demonstrable success in finalizing complex, multi-year contracts with global Tier-1 suppliers.

• Extensive experience in incorporating information security and data privacy clauses into commercial agreements.

• Previous experience working collaboratively with General Counsel and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) offices.

• Strong negotiation abilities and capacity to communicate the return on investment (ROI) of contractual positions.

• Familiarity with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms, particularly Ironclad.

• Experience with procurement platforms, such as Zip.

• Executive presence with outstanding communication, influence, and change management skills.

• Experience in a fast-paced tech or marketplace environment, such as e-commerce or SaaS platforms, is preferred.
