This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Oversee intricate, high-stakes outbound transactions for RingCentral’s public sector sales initiatives across North America.

• Act as a reliable consultant for the US State, Local, and Higher Education (SLED) sectors, channel partners, and resellers.

• Offer guidance on go-to-market strategies, RFx support, bid protest assistance, contract negotiations, representative/certification assessments, responses to open records requests, and advice on contract disputes and performance issues.

• Develop, execute, and enhance forms, playbooks, processes, and procedures to scale public sector operations and reduce risks.

• Monitor emerging policies, regulations, and trends within the public sector.

• Draft, evaluate, and negotiate SaaS agreements, master agreements, professional services contracts, task orders, amendments, NDAs, and agreements with channels/resellers.

• Manage the end-to-end structuring of SLED transactions.

• Create and improve contracting workflows, public sector playbooks, SOPs, specialized deal templates, and contracting vehicles.

• Educate Sales, Sales Ops, and Deals Desk teams on government contracting standards, typical redlines, and nuances of public procurement.

• Assist other RingCentral attorneys with expertise in public sector matters, including international procurement, channels, and strategic partnerships.

• Utilize and enhance CLM and AI tools to optimize contract operations and ensure accurate contract repositories.

• Partner with Sales, Deals Desk, Finance, Professional Services, Security, and Product teams to increase sales efficiency and safeguard organizational interests.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent practical experience (Senior Contract Negotiator option).

• Certification as a Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) is advantageous.

• Over 5 years of substantial, hands-on experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts, with at least 3+ years focused on U.S. Public Sector (SLED and/or Federal) contracting in a SaaS, enterprise software, or technology setting (Senior Contract Negotiator option).

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing, eligible for in-house registration (Corporate Counsel option).

• More than 5 years of combined experience in-house or at a law firm, with considerable experience in U.S. Public Sector (SLED and/or Federal) SaaS and cloud technology transactions (Corporate Counsel option).

• Familiarity with public procurement frameworks, government contract vehicles, reseller/channel partner deal structures, and compliance standards specific to government.

• Experience with cooperative purchasing vehicles like NASPO and TIPS is preferred.

• Background in public sector higher education is a plus.

• Knowledge of U.S. federal, Canadian federal/provincial/territorial/municipal, or international public procurement is a plus.

• Proficient in RFx processes and best practices.

• Demonstrated ability to navigate aggressive sales cycles and negotiate with government entities and opposing legal counsel.

• Proven history of independently managing high-volume, fast-paced environments driven by quarter-end demands.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) software, Salesforce/CRMs, enterprise tools, and AI technologies.
