This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.
• Oversee and direct the company's conflict of interest program, which includes performing reviews, formulating mitigation strategies, and providing guidance to employees and leadership.
• Offer legal advice and practical direction on matters related to ethics, compliance, anti-bribery, and corporate conduct.
• Act as a reliable advisor on ethics and compliance policies, procedures, and employee inquiries.
• Manage the Ethics Help Line and Ethics Office email, ensuring that reported issues are reviewed and resolved promptly.
• Conduct or supervise internal investigations regarding ethics and compliance and suggest suitable corrective actions.
• Design, implement, and uphold training programs, awareness initiatives, and communications related to ethics and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to pinpoint compliance risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
• Aid in the creation, execution, and enhancement of ethics and compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
• Keep abreast of regulatory and compliance changes, recommending actions based on their impact on the organization.
• Manage external legal counsel and other outside resources for sensitive or specialized issues.
• Juris Doctor (JD) is mandatory.
• Must be licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• A minimum of 5 years of legal experience is required.
• At least 1 year of direct experience in ethics and compliance is necessary.
• Background in a multinational corporation, law firm, or government agency is preferred.
• Proven experience in supporting ethics and compliance initiatives, including conflicts of interest, codes of conduct, ethics investigations, anti-bribery compliance, ethics reporting, or related corporate compliance efforts.
• Experience advising publicly traded companies is advantageous.
• Capacity to independently manage sensitive and confidential matters with sound judgment and discretion.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with employees and leaders at all organizational levels.
• Strong presentation and training facilitation skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
• Experience working in intricate, highly matrixed organizations.
• Familiarity with the healthcare industry is preferred.
• Skill in identifying legal and compliance risks and crafting practical, business-oriented solutions.
• Outstanding organizational abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficient in managing multiple priorities, balancing competing demands, and driving initiatives to completion.
• For remote work, a cable broadband or fiber optic internet connection with a minimum of 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speed is required.
