Senior Contracts Manager, EMEA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee a portfolio of commercial agreements with varying complexities and stakeholder requirements.

• Prepare and evaluate subscription contracts, artificial intelligence terms, regulatory addendums, professional services agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other relevant commercial documentation.

• Directly negotiate contract terms with customer representatives to facilitate deal advancement and safeguard GitLab's legal and business interests.

• Work in tandem with sales teams and internal stakeholders to deliver clear, timely advice throughout the deal lifecycle.

• Evaluate contractual risks and convert legal concerns into actionable options and recommendations for the business.

• Develop practical guidance to assist sales team members in understanding and navigating contract terms.

• Enhance team playbooks, templates, and process documentation to promote uniform and scalable contracting practices.

• Report to the Director of Legal.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts within a software or technology context, including complex arrangements involving regulatory or licensing issues.

• Capability to align business objectives with legal risks and articulate contractual concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders and external partners.

• Experience engaging across different geographies and time zones, with an understanding of varying commercial and regulatory standards.

• Experience or readiness to operate effectively in a remote, asynchronous work environment.

• Proficient with Google Workspace and contract lifecycle management tools.

• Interest in artificial intelligence tools and practical knowledge of their application in legal or commercial processes.

• Proficient in English.

• Professional proficiency in French is a significant advantage.

• A law degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent practical experience.

• Residing in the UK or Ireland.
