This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Create blogs, newsletters, case studies, thought leadership pieces, website content, campaign materials, and various long- and short-form content.
• Convert intricate educational ideas, research findings, product details, and school narratives into accessible and engaging material.
• Conduct interviews with educators, school and district leaders, internal specialists, and partners.
• Modify tone, framing, and depth to suit a range of audiences from teachers to district administrators.
• Revise written content based on feedback to enhance quality, efficiency, and editorial insight.
• Develop and oversee the editorial calendar in line with organizational goals.
• Manage Participate Learning’s blog as a valuable resource for educators and education leaders.
• Spot opportunities to revisit, enhance, and repurpose existing content.
• Lead the editorial creation of recurring communications, including product emails and organization-wide news updates.
• Implement search and digital content best practices in collaboration with marketing colleagues.
• Write from the perspectives of educators and school leaders.
• Work together with Product, Research and Evaluation, Implementation, Partnerships, and Marketing teams.
• Adapt primary content for social media, design, paid media, sales enablement, and other channels and campaigns.
• Provide editorial insight during collaborative review processes.
• Manage various writing projects and deadlines while ensuring high-quality output.
• A Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Education, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Over 5 years of professional writing, editorial, communications, education, or related experience.
• Proven exceptional writing skills demonstrated through a portfolio of significant work.
• Relevant professional experience in K–12 education, education publishing, education communications, or a role involving in-depth engagement with schools and educators.
• Experience in interviewing subject-matter experts and transforming complex information into engaging content.
• Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities.
• Strong command of language, structure, tone, voice, and nuance.
• Exceptional synthesis skills with the ability to identify connections across various sources, concepts, and perspectives.
• Profound understanding of K–12 audiences with the capability to write credibly and empathetically for educators.
• Excellent interviewing and listening abilities.
• Strong editorial judgment and meticulous attention to detail.
• Robust research skills and a keen intellectual curiosity.
• Capability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Experience in content marketing, SEO, email marketing, campaign strategy, analytics, or digital marketing is advantageous but not mandatory.
• A passion for global perspectives, languages, cultures, and travel.
• Participation in most Zoom meetings with cameras on.
