Senior Consultant – Transmission Planning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Conduct feasibility studies for interconnection related to new generation, storage, demand, and transmission projects.

• Enhance the sizing and placement of new generation, storage, demand, and transmission initiatives.

• Develop interconnection applications, which include creating power flow, dynamic, and short circuit study models.

• Navigate generation, storage, demand, and transmission interconnection applications through the complete interconnection study process.

• Collaborate with the host transmission operator throughout the interconnection study process.

• Analyze and evaluate interconnection study reports from the host transmission operator.

• Execute general power system studies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Electrical Power Systems.

• Five years of experience in grid planning, with at least three years in North America.

• Two years of experience in a consulting role.

• In-depth knowledge of PSSE and/or PSLF power systems analysis tools and their related models and utilities.

• Familiarity with transmission systems in Eastern Interconnection, ERCOT, and/or WECC.

• Significant experience conducting power system studies.

• Experience with resource interconnection studies in Eastern Interconnection, ERCOT, or WECC.

• Experience in assessing generation delivery in RTO service territories, especially CAISO, is highly valued.

• Preference for candidates with knowledge of EMT modeling using PSCAD for protection, control interaction, or IBR-focused studies.

• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Electrical Power Systems is preferred.
