High Reliability, Operational Transformation Consultant

• Execute engagements focused on High Reliability and Human Performance.

• Enhance operational execution, mitigate risks, foster culture, and develop resilient operating systems.

• Participate in strategy development, operational processes, organizational transformation, and performance enhancement projects.

• Evaluate operational performance, organizational culture, and management systems.

• Analyze reliability, safety, quality, and execution risks in complex operational settings.

• Assist in transformations of High Reliability Organizations.

• Utilize Human and Organizational Performance principles to boost resilience and minimize failures.

• Conduct operational and cultural diagnostics, workshops, interviews, and site evaluations.

• Perform root-cause analysis and pinpoint systemic obstacles to enduring performance.

• Aid clients in comprehending and addressing complexities that hinder operational efficiency.

• Assist in the design and rollout of Integrated Management Systems.

• Enhance leadership effectiveness, accountability, decision-making, and organizational coherence.

• Support the redesign of operating models and initiatives focused on execution excellence.

• Carry out culture assessments and promote sustainable behavioral changes.

• Collaborate with client teams to devise, implement, and maintain practical improvements.

• Spot opportunities for reducing operational risks and enhancing reliability.

• Optimize asset utilization, maintenance efficacy, and operational discipline.

• Bolster organizational learning and capabilities for continuous improvement.

• Elevate workforce engagement, coordination, and communication.

• Convert operational insights into actionable recommendations and implementation strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is required; an MBA, advanced degree, or relevant advanced military training is preferred.

• Over 5 years of experience in operational excellence, military operations, manufacturing, industrial operations, engineering, consulting, or a related sector.

• Proven experience in leading or supporting initiatives related to operational improvement, culture transformation, organizational change, performance enhancement, or operational excellence.

• Experience in complex, highly regulated, high-risk, or high-consequence operational environments.

• Strong analytical skills, structured problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking capabilities.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

• Capability to establish credibility and effectively collaborate with frontline personnel, operational leaders, and senior executives.

• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, dynamic, and team-oriented client settings.

• Willingness to travel weekly as required, potentially up to 80% (Monday–Thursday).

• Candidates should reside near a major airport within the contiguous 48 states.

• Preferred experience in military leadership, nuclear or aviation operations, manufacturing, industrial operations, reliability, maintenance, engineering, or other complex, high-consequence operational environments.

• Preferred background in manufacturing, refining, petrochemicals, energy, utilities, mining, transportation, or other industrial operations.

• Preferred experience in plant management, operations management, maintenance, reliability, production, process engineering, or operational excellence.

• Preferred consulting experience centered on operational transformation, performance improvement, culture change, organizational effectiveness, or execution excellence.
