Senior Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the implementation of Accela’s ePermitHub Digital Plan Room for governmental bodies using the Accela Civic Platform.

• Manage the implementation process from initial discovery and solution design to configuration, scripting, testing, training, and launch.

• Conduct discovery sessions with agency stakeholders to gain insights into plan review workflows, challenges, and objectives.

• Assess existing Civic Platform configurations and convert them into Digital Plan Room solution designs.

• Create solution design documents, configuration specifications, and business rules documentation.

• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to design plan review solutions while articulating customer requirements.

• Maintain Civic Platform configurations and custom JavaScript (EMSE) scripting across development, testing, and production environments.

• Design and execute testing and user acceptance procedures; provide training for administrators and end-users; lead the go-live process and transition to support.

• Manage multiple concurrent implementations alongside project managers.

• Act as a senior technical escalation point for production issues, which includes log analysis, root cause identification, and resolution.

• Develop automation tools, templates, enhancements, and reusable implementation patterns.

• Advocate for the use of Jira, Confluence, and GitHub throughout the delivery lifecycle.

• Assist sales and scoping efforts through discovery calls, technical demonstrations, effort estimation, and input for statements of work.

• Mentor junior consultants and review their configurations and code.

• Travel up to 50% to client locations and industry events.

⛳️ Requirements

• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of experience configuring the Accela Civic Platform with a proven record of successful implementations.

• Proficient in Accela EMSE scripting with the capability to read and write production-quality event scripts.

• Strong skills in JavaScript and familiarity with server-side scripting environments.

• Knowledge of SaaS, multi-tenancy, multi-tiered infrastructure, and application servers.

• Practical understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and troubleshooting for HTTP-based integrations.

• Experience with enterprise application integration.

• Proficiency in SQL with SQL Server and an understanding of the Accela data model.

• Strong grasp of database concepts.

• Ability to lead customer-facing sessions and communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience collaborating directly with municipal or county government entities to gather requirements, translate them into solution designs, and implement them within the Civic Platform.

• Familiarity with the complete implementation lifecycle from discovery through to go-live and post-go-live support.

• Proficient with Git, GitHub, Jira, and Confluence as tools for delivery.

• Proven history of enhancing team processes via tooling, automation, templates, and process improvements.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Strong customer service skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Solid written documentation practices.

• Capability to work independently while effectively collaborating within large, multifunctional teams and alongside engineering and product management.
