Senior Consultant – Life Sciences Data & Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with clients in the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and diagnostics sectors to provide solutions for product planning, pricing, reimbursement, product commercialization, and regulatory compliance.

• Oversee data management and technical delivery for client projects.

• Mentor data engineers in executing client projects.

• Create and enhance predictive models for outcomes, efficacy proxies, and forecasting through statistical and machine learning techniques.

• Perform advanced analytics utilizing extensive datasets, which include claims, affiliations, payer, sales, and additional sources.

• Develop internal tools and automate workflows to expedite delivery schedules and enhance team productivity.

• Thoroughly document and process-map methodologies and train the business on their application.

• Recognize opportunities to enhance outcomes.

• Evaluate complex information, conduct quality checks on results, and craft structured, data-informed narratives.

• Communicate technical execution summaries and insight recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management.

• Travel to Guidehouse and client locations throughout the US up to 10% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• A BA/BS degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Data Analytics/Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field, is mandatory.

• At least 3 years of relevant consulting or work experience with large global pharmaceutical companies, mid-sized pharmaceutical firms, and/or biotech clients.

• Profound understanding of the pharmaceutical sector, encompassing drug development and launch processes.

• Solid knowledge across life science functions including commercial operations, market access, patient services, and medical affairs.

• Capability to independently analyze intricate information, perform quality checks on results, and create structured, data-informed narratives.

• Exceptional communication skills to articulate technical execution summaries and insight recommendations to a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior management.

• Experience in Data Analytics on substantial health data sets and a robust understanding of contemporary datasets and analytic environments.

• Proficient coding skills in SQL, Python (or another equivalent scripting language), with knowledge of cloud data platforms and life sciences data, such as claims, EHR, sales data, formulary, and coverage information.

• Ability to navigate within a matrixed organization.

• Must be a collaborative team player.

• Willingness and ability to travel to Guidehouse and client locations across the US, up to 10% of the time.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Advanced degree/PhD is preferred.

• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and Palantir is preferred.

• Familiarity with AI/ML and its applications in the life sciences sector.

• Proven track record of supervising, coaching, and mentoring junior-level staff, including responsibility for their career development.

• Preference for candidates residing in the Washington, DC metro area.
