Senior Consultant – Life Sciences Data & Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with clients in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, and diagnostics to provide solutions in product planning, pricing, reimbursement, product commercialization, as well as regulatory and compliance services.

• Oversee data management and technical implementation for client projects.

• Mentor data engineers involved in client engagements.

• Create and enhance predictive models for outcomes, efficacy proxies, and forecasting through statistical and machine learning techniques.

• Perform advanced analytics utilizing extensive datasets, including claims, affiliations, payer information, sales data, and other relevant sources.

• Develop internal tools and automate workflows to expedite delivery schedules and enhance team efficiency.

• Document workflows, create process maps, and educate the business on used methodologies.

• Identify areas for improvement to enhance outcomes.

• Analyze intricate information, verify result quality, and craft structured, data-driven narratives.

• Summarize technical execution and provide insightful recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management.

• Oversee, coach, and mentor junior staff, guiding their professional growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• A BA/BS degree, ideally in a field related to analytics such as Data Analytics/Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a similar discipline, is required.

• At least four (4) years of relevant consulting or professional experience with large global pharmaceutical, mid-sized pharmaceutical, or biotech clients.

• Strong comprehension of the pharmaceutical sector, including drug development and market launch processes.

• Solid understanding of life science functions, encompassing commercial operations, market access, patient services, and medical affairs.

• Capability to independently analyze complex information, validate results, and formulate structured, data-informed narratives.

• Outstanding communication abilities to articulate technical execution summaries and insightful recommendations to a variety of stakeholders, including senior management.

• Background in Data Analytics involving large health data sets and a strong grasp of contemporary datasets and analytics environments.

• Proficient in coding with SQL, Python (or another equivalent scripting language), cloud data platforms, and knowledgeable about life sciences data such as claims, EHR, sales data, formulary, and coverage data.

• Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organizational structure.

• Must be a collaborative team player.

• Willingness and ability to travel to Guidehouse and client locations across the US, up to 10% of the time.

• An advanced degree or PhD is preferred.

• Experience with data platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, and Palantir.

• Familiarity with AI/ML and their applications in the life sciences field.

• Proven track record of successfully supervising, coaching, and mentoring junior staff, along with guiding their career development.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
