Senior Consultant, Data Governance Modeling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the design, upkeep, and improvement of enterprise customer and account data models within Snowflake.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to collect requirements and convert them into logical enhancements for data models.

• Document customer data entities, their relationships, hierarchies, identifiers, and business definitions.

• Create and uphold source-to-target mappings, data lineage documentation, and integration diagrams.

• Analyze and record data movement among CRM, marketing, analytics, enrichment, and operational systems.

• Work alongside data engineers to define, validate, and oversee data contracts and integration requirements.

• Conduct data validation tasks, including reconciliation, quality checks, referential integrity tests, and completeness assessments.

• Establish and uphold data quality standards, governance processes, and data stewardship practices.

• Develop and maintain data dictionaries, business glossaries, and standardized definitions for fields.

• Coordinate the investigation and resolution of issues related to customer data quality, consistency, and completeness.

• Assist analytics and reporting teams by ensuring customer data assets align with business and operational requirements.

• Advocate for data standards, naming conventions, and best practices in governance across teams.

• Educate business users and analysts on the available customer data assets and their intended applications.

• Facilitate cooperation among business stakeholders, architects, engineers, and analytics teams to enhance customer data management and governance results.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in a data-centric role, such as Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer, BI Developer, Data Governance Analyst, or comparable positions.

• Proficient SQL skills and practical experience with cloud data warehouses, preferably Snowflake.

• Experience with customer, account, CRM, or other intricate relational datasets.

• Capability to document and analyze data flows across various systems and platforms.

• Experience in creating and maintaining data dictionaries, business glossaries, data lineage documentation, and source-to-target mappings.

• Strong knowledge of data quality principles, governance frameworks, and practices of data stewardship.

• Experience in validating data integrations, data transformations, and the implementation of business rules.

• Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms and their underlying data structures.

• Working knowledge of data modeling concepts, including entity relationships, primary and foreign keys, normalization, and dimensional modeling.

• Exposure to ETL, ELT, reverse ETL, or customer data activation tools.

• Experience in supporting analytics, reporting, or business intelligence initiatives.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to connect with technical teams and business stakeholders.

• Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple priorities in a consulting environment.
