Senior Construction Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Supervise construction projects from pre-bid through to contract completion and closeout.

• Take ownership of project scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction outcomes.

• Make decisions related to execution regarding staffing, sequencing, and subcontractor alignment.

• Utilize BuilderTrend to monitor progress, manage documentation, facilitate communication, and report on project status.

• Oversee project P&L, forecasting, cost-to-complete, contingency usage, and margin protection.

• Lead and manage Project Managers and Site Superintendents, including recruitment, coaching, development, and accountability.

• Oversee multiple projects and project teams throughout a region.

• Serve as the senior escalation point for complex issues related to scope, schedule, permitting, inspection, jurisdictional, budget, staffing, and client matters.

• Aid in estimating, pricing, bid strategy, constructability review, and risk identification.

• Participate in go/no-go discussions and provide recommendations for bid strategies.

• Oversee site readiness, which includes permitting, AHJ coordination, utilities, crane/set planning, access, and inspections.

• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, and clarifications during pre-bid and contract review.

• Review and verify project budgets, schedules, and scopes before contract execution.

• Offer strategic guidance on cost control, schedule performance, and subcontractor management.

• Lead customer discussions involving scope clarifications, change orders, delays, and risk mitigation, especially with public-sector and school district clients.

• Collaborate with regional and executive leadership on workload planning, staffing, and operational enhancements.

• Establish and enforce safety requirements and OSHA/company standards.

• Develop or assist with Scopes of Work, Delineation of Responsibilities, and proposals for larger projects.

• Track and report on project results and metrics.

• Ensure contract compliance and manage changes to projects.

• Conduct safety tailgate meetings at the beginning of project phases or shifts.

• Travel frequently to active regional job sites, approximately 50% of the time.

• Perform other assigned duties.


⛳️ Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in the construction industry.

• At least 3 years of experience in people leadership, including direct management, coaching, and development of Project Managers and/or Superintendents.

• Comprehensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods, and techniques.

• Experience in supporting preconstruction activities, including estimating, bidding, or pre-bid planning.

• Proven experience leading projects through inspections, closeout, and owner turnover.

• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects across various jurisdictions and ADJs with high complexity.

• Strong working knowledge of subcontracted trades, including civil, electrical, plumbing, crane/set crews, and modular installation activities.

• Robust business and financial acumen.

• Excellent leadership, written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

• Technical proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project management software.

• Team-building capabilities with both technical and non-technical personnel.

• Strong prioritization and time management skills.

• Knowledge of safety field concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Customer service and negotiation skills.

• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans.

• Capability to perform sustained physical activity and maintain manual dexterity.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and maintain balance.

• Capacity to climb stairs and ladders, use construction personnel hoists, and navigate uneven or unfinished work areas.

• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

• Required vision, depth perception, focus, and hearing abilities for active construction environments.

• Ability to work indoors or outdoors, at elevated heights, and in varying weather, noise, odor, dust, or fume conditions.

• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, or provide emergency on-call support as necessary.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.

• Must pass pre-employment drug testing, including for marijuana.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management is preferred but not mandatory.

• OSHA 30 certification is preferred but not mandatory.
