This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Supervise construction projects from pre-bid stages through contract execution, completion, and closeout.

• Take ownership of project outcomes from Notice-to-Proceed to closeout, managing scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

• Serve as the primary decision-maker for execution strategies, staffing, sequencing, and subcontractor coordination.

• Utilize BuilderTrend to monitor project progress, manage documentation, and facilitate effective communication.

• Actively manage risks, issues, and project change requests to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.

• Oversee project P&L performance, including forecasting, cost-to-complete assessments, contingency utilization, and margin protection.

• Provide direct leadership and performance management for Project Managers and Site Superintendents, encompassing hiring, coaching, development, and accountability.

• Manage multiple projects and project teams concurrently, ensuring alignment with regional goals, standards, and best practices.

• Function as a senior escalation point and decision authority for complex issues related to scope, schedule, permitting, inspections, budget, staffing, and client relations.

• Engage in pre-bid plan and specification reviews, constructability assessments, scheduling strategies, and risk identification.

• Collaborate with estimating and operations leadership on pricing, bid strategies, and competitive positioning.

• Participate in go/no-go discussions and recommend bid strategies based on constructability assessments and associated risks.

• Oversee site readiness, including permitting, coordination with AHJ, utilities, crane/set planning, access, and inspections.

• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, and clarifications during pre-bid and contract review processes.

• Review and validate budgets, schedules, and scopes prior to contract execution.

• Offer strategic guidance on cost control, schedule performance, and subcontractor management.

• Lead client discussions regarding scope clarifications, change orders, delays, and risk mitigation, particularly with public-sector and school district clients.

• Collaborate with regional and executive leadership on workload planning, staffing strategies, and operational enhancements.

• Establish and enforce safety requirements and facilitate safety tailgate meetings.

• Develop or assist in creating Scopes of Work, Delineation of Responsibilities, and proposals for larger projects.

• Track and report on project results and metrics, including milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues.

• Ensure compliance with contract stipulations and manage any changes effectively.

• Address project issues and risks to lessen impacts on baseline budgets.

• Ensure that job site activities adhere to OSHA and company safety standards.

• Travel frequently to active regional job sites, approximately 50% of the time.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must be based in California.

• 5–8 years of experience in construction-related roles.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in people leadership, including direct management, coaching, and development of Project Managers and/or Site Superintendents.

• Extensive knowledge of project and program management principles, methods, and techniques.

• Proven experience in managing and developing Project Managers and/or Superintendents.

• Experience in supporting preconstruction activities such as estimating, bidding, or pre-bid planning.

• Proven ability to lead projects through inspections, closeout, and owner turnover processes.

• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects across various jurisdictions and ADJs with significant complexity.

• Strong understanding of subcontracted trades, including civil, electrical, plumbing, crane/set crews, and modular installation activities.

• Strong business and financial acumen.

• Exceptional leadership, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.

• Technically proficient with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and project management software.

• Strong team-building skills with both technical and non-technical personnel.

• Excellent prioritization and time management abilities.

• Demonstrated commitment to safety practices and procedures.

• Highly organized with outstanding customer service skills.

• Skilled negotiator with customers and vendors/subcontractors.

• Capable of managing multiple complex projects effectively.

• Experience in directing the work of others to ensure successful project completion.

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.

• Capable of performing sustained physical activity while maintaining manual dexterity.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, balance, climb stairs and ladders, use construction personnel hoists, and navigate uneven or unfinished work areas.

• Ability to handle tools, equipment, and materials, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

• Adept at close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and adjusting focus as needed.

• Ability to hear alarms, bells, whistles, and verbal instructions in active construction environments.

• Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors, at elevated heights, and in varying weather, noise, odor, dust, or fume conditions.

• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or provide emergency on-call support based on operational requirements.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.

• Must pass pre-employment drug testing, including for marijuana, due to the safety-sensitive nature of the position.

• Must complete employment eligibility verification through E-Verify.
