Senior Compute Engineer, Go, Kube

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, refactor, and create patches for extensive Golang codebases.

• Analyze and comprehend large Golang codebases.

• Develop thorough tests utilizing the standard Golang library, Ginkgo, and Gomega.

• Implement Test Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.

• Diagnose applications through log analysis and profiling techniques.

• Deploy, scale, and sustain applications on Kubernetes platforms.

• Oversee Kubernetes internal operations and resource quota systems.

• Create API services using Golang.

• Build web/HTTP microservices.

• Engage in high-stakes, high-visibility projects with prominent enterprises.

• Lead client accounts, shape project engagements, and expand the portfolio.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

• 14+ years of professional experience in software development with Golang.

• Proven expertise in Kubernetes and container technologies.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Familiarity with Java and competence in reading and understanding code.

• Significant programming experience, preferably in Python or Java, with Kubernetes.

• Experience in managing monorepos.

• Acquainted with CI tools.

• Background with Bazel as a build system.

• Profound knowledge of Golang, including its internals.

• Ability to read and interpret large Golang codebases.

• Experience in writing comprehensive tests with the standard Golang library, Ginkgo, and Gomega.

• Effective application of Test Driven Development (TDD).

• Experience in troubleshooting applications using logs and profiling methods.

• In-depth understanding of Kubernetes internal mechanisms and resource quota system management.

• Practical experience in deploying, scaling, and maintaining applications on Kubernetes platforms.

• Extensive expertise in Docker and container technologies.

• Solid understanding of Linux-based systems, particularly control groups features tied to resource management and container technologies.

• Proficient in PostgreSQL.

• Knowledge of Prometheus and general metrics and monitoring systems.

• Experience in developing API services using Golang.

• Strong grasp of web/HTTP microservices development.
