This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
β’ Design, construct, and enhance intelligent low-level compiler systems, incorporating compiler-oriented agents, multi-step transformation workflows, tool utilization, memory management, and orchestration.
β’ Create systems that analyze low-level intermediate representations (IR), code generation, optimization processes, scheduling, numerical precision, and performance trade-offs within GPU-centric workloads.
β’ Develop data, environments, verification, reward, and evaluation systems aimed at enhancing compiler quality, numerical accuracy, robustness, and performance.
β’ Establish infrastructure for numerical validation, differential testing, regression detection, and correctness verification for generated or modified code.
β’ Collaborate in the co-design of compiler and verification workflows throughout NVIDIA's software ecosystem, encompassing models and inference, compiler pipelines, runtimes, libraries, kernels, and GPUs.
β’ Work alongside internal teams focused on compilers, CUDA, libraries, runtimes, and hardware to integrate new functionalities into NVIDIA products.
β’ Lead performance analysis and optimization efforts for generated or transformed code, with an emphasis on correctness, scalability, and real-world application.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience; a Master's or PhD is preferred.
β’ Over 5 years of relevant experience in industry or academia related to compilers, AI systems, numerical computing, verification, high-performance computing, or similar fields.
β’ Strong practical experience in compiler implementation, program analysis, code generation, optimization, low-level performance engineering, or correctness infrastructure.
β’ Familiarity with agent systems, coding agents, compiler automation, numerical analysis, program verification, differential testing, or formal/semi-formal validation methodologies.
β’ Proficient in C/C++ and Python programming, with a solid foundation in software engineering; knowledge of Rust is an advantage.
β’ Experience in GPU programming and performance optimization using CUDA or equivalent accelerator platforms.
β’ Capability to operate across system boundaries, from model-driven workflows and compiler infrastructure to runtime and hardware-aware optimization.
β’ Proven experience in developing compiler infrastructure, coding agents, verification frameworks, correctness tools, or developer tools.
β’ Proficiency in low-level compiler stacks such as LLVM, MLIR, PTX, Triton, or other IR/code generation frameworks.
β’ Experience with AI-assisted compilation, numerical validation systems, equivalence checking, autotuning, or compiler verification workflows.
β’ Expertise in GPU systems, numerical behavior, and performance optimization.
β’ Publications or leadership in open-source projects within relevant technical domains.
