Senior Commercialization Project Manager

📋 Description

• Spearhead intricate, cross-functional commercialization projects for new products, updates, packaging modifications, and other innovation initiatives from the approved concept stage through to launch and completion.

• Take ownership of integrated commercialization strategies, which encompass master timelines, milestones, critical paths, dependencies, responsible parties, risk assessments, and launch-readiness criteria.

• Enhance and maintain StageGate governance and rhythm across the commercialization portfolio.

• Act as a commercialization expert and reliable partner for functional leaders.

• Lead commercialization and StageGate meetings, fostering decision-making, accountability, follow-up, and escalation.

• Ensure launch readiness by coordinating efforts across Product Development, manufacturing, inventory, packaging procurement, Quality & Regulatory, eCommerce, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance, and other departments.

• Collaborate with Marketing Operations to synchronize commercialization plans with marketing launch strategies, calendars, inventory preparedness, creative dependencies, and launch schedules.

• Oversee project risk registers and proactively evaluate risks, obstacles, resource limitations, and trade-offs.

• Assess project inputs and advise on whether initiatives should continue, be paused, re-scoped, delayed, expedited, or re-evaluated.

• Maintain visibility at the portfolio level and furnish leadership with decision-ready insights regarding project health, progress, risks, constraints, dependencies, and opportunities for reprioritization.

• Ensure go/no-go preparedness by providing leaders and functional owners with essential information, recommendations, approvals, and risk visibility.

• Enhance commercialization systems, workflows, StageGate criteria, templates, governance practices, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Facilitate commercialization retrospectives and convert lessons learned into scalable process enhancements.

• Report directly to the VP of Supply Chain.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in business, project management, operations, supply chain, or a related discipline is preferred; relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in project management, commercialization, new product development, product launches, or related fields, including independently managing complex cross-functional projects.

• Proven experience in leading significant projects or programs involving multiple functions, senior stakeholders, simultaneous workstreams, competing priorities, and considerable business impact.

• Experience in creating and managing integrated project plans, critical paths, risk registers, dependencies, decision points, and executive-level status updates.

• Experience in owning or substantially contributing to structured commercialization, new product development, or StageGate processes.

• Capacity to operate with considerable autonomy, navigate uncertainty, and independently tackle complex project and cross-functional challenges.

• Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities, including the ability to evaluate cross-functional inputs, implications, and trade-offs, and provide clear recommendations to leadership.

• Ability to influence decisions, foster accountability, challenge assumptions, and advance work across teams and senior stakeholders without direct reporting authority.

• Exceptional facilitation and communication skills, including the ability to distill complex information into clear risks, options, recommendations, and decisions.

• Aptitude for identifying and implementing process enhancements that improve project execution, governance, and organizational effectiveness.

• Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools such as Monday.com, Google Workspace, or similar platforms.

• A PMP or other relevant project/program management certification is advantageous.

• Experience in CPG, food and beverage, supplements, natural products, or another regulated consumer-products sector is a plus.

• Familiarity with product development, packaging, manufacturing, supply chain, Quality & Regulatory, eCommerce, and consumer product launch processes is beneficial.

• A passion for real food, wellness, sustainability, regenerative agriculture, or nutrient-dense nutrition is a bonus.

• Must reside and work in an eligible U.S. state due to tax and compliance regulations.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.
