This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Create commercial proposals, negotiate contracts, and oversee commercial risk for lucrative business prospects within the Power Conversion & Storage Data Center sector.
• Direct contract negotiations and manage customer meetings until contract finalization and signing.
• Negotiate terms such as limitation of liability, indemnities, warranties, insurance, liquidated damages, and other commercial conditions.
• Formulate commercial proposals for RFQ/RFI/RFP opportunities of varying complexities, including low, medium, and high.
• Collaborate across functions with Sales, Finance, Legal, Engineering, Sourcing, and Project teams.
• Ensure adherence to commercial risk policies and approval procedures.
• Conduct reviews covering technical aspects, profitability, cash flow, and commercial risks.
• Create and assess project cash flow models, cost escalation forecasts, foreign exchange risks, pricing strategies, and profitability indicators.
• Propel competitive pricing approaches and commercial frameworks.
• Prepare, organize, and submit tender materials and commercial deliverables.
• Engage with GE Vernova businesses and global teams to facilitate market growth and strategic Data Center initiatives.
• Acquire insights into market trends, commercial practices, customer contracting strategies, and competitive positioning.
• Contribute to the development of commercial strategies, policy implementation, and ongoing improvement efforts.
• Tackle intricate commercial, contractual, financial, and risk-related issues.
• Evaluate data, assess risks, and formulate recommendations based on internal and external sources.
• Spot opportunities for simplification, productivity enhancement, and growth.
• Guide junior team members and potentially oversee small to medium-sized commercial projects.
• Convey sensitive concepts, foster stakeholder alignment, and influence decision-making.
• Collaborate with regional commercial and risk teams to streamline processes and enhance operational practices.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• 5–10 years of experience in Commercial Operations, Sales, Proposal Management, Contract Management, Project Finance, or a related commercial role supporting specific energy, power, data center, grid, renewable energy, industrial automation, or electrical infrastructure sectors.
• At least 5 years of experience leading commercial proposals, reviewing customer specifications, crafting contract strategies, negotiating commercial terms, and supporting various agreements including equipment and/or service sales contracts, consortium agreements, EPC contracts, or long-term service contracts.
• Experience assessing commercial risk, pricing models, profitability, cash flow forecasts, and contractual obligations.
• Proven experience working collaboratively with Sales, Finance, Legal, Engineering, Sourcing, and Project Management teams.
• In-depth understanding of commercial contract provisions, encompassing limitation of liability, indemnities, liquidated damages, warranties, insurance requirements, payment terms, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
• Capability to articulate complex commercial concepts, sway stakeholders, and facilitate negotiations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in interpreting technical, commercial, financial, and contractual information.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
• A Master's degree is preferred.
• Experience in relevant areas such as Data Center, Energy Storage, Power Conversion, Grid Solutions, turbine, wind, industrial electrification, or similar industries is preferred.
• Familiarity with negotiating multi-million-dollar domestic and international projects.
• Knowledge of commercial risk management processes, contract governance, and stage-gate approval frameworks.
• Experience with financial modeling, project cash flow development, foreign exchange analysis, cost escalation strategies, and profitability assessments.
• Working knowledge of U.S. energy policy requirements, including ITC eligibility, domestic content provisions, prevailing wage and apprenticeship mandates, and FEOC regulations.
• Understanding of U.S. and international trade regulations, tariffs, customs requirements, and supply chain compliance factors.
