Senior Collections Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the main contact for customers concerning inquiries related to loss mitigation and collections.

• Conduct both outbound and inbound collection calls to address delinquent accounts.

• Evaluate borrower financial information to assess eligibility for retention options, such as forbearances and modifications.

• Review borrower financials to ascertain eligibility for liquidation alternatives, including short sales and deeds in lieu.

• Keep precise and comprehensive records of customer interactions and account activities.

• Tackle and resolve intricate account issues, discrepancies, and disputes.

• Examine accounts to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

• Assist borrowers in navigating delinquency resolution and home retention or liquidation options.

• Negotiate payment arrangements.

• Address escalated issues and deliver outstanding service.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

• Some college education is preferred.

• At least 3 years of experience in collections, loss mitigation, or mortgage servicing is necessary.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong negotiation abilities and active listening skills.

• Proficient in problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.

• Excellent customer service capabilities, with the ability to manage conflict and achieve successful outcomes.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Strong understanding of investor guidelines (FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC).

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities.

• Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.

• Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal Fair Debt Collection Laws, US Bankruptcy Code, and bankruptcy processes and regulations.

• Capability to analyze and interpret complex documents to make informed decisions and recommendations.

• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.

• Working hours are from 11am to 8pm EST.

• Must successfully complete a background check and credit check as a condition of employment, where allowed by the law.
