Senior Cloud Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance on the formulation and implementation of the cloud and infrastructure architecture strategy.

• Act as the primary technical advisor and subject-matter expert in solution architecture for both cloud and hybrid environments.

• Offer technical leadership for collaborative discovery, design, and implementation initiatives.

• Convert business challenges and requirements into actionable technical architectures and roadmaps.

• Communicate architectural decisions, trade-offs, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.

• Oversee the complete architecture and technical design of applications, platforms, integrations, and infrastructure from inception to production.

• Develop reusable architectural patterns, reference designs, and technical standards.

• Assess and recommend platforms, services, hosting models, and build-versus-buy decisions.

• Design and document data flows, system integrations, APIs, and service boundaries.

• Facilitate architecture reviews and provide design guidance throughout the development lifecycle.

• Manage multi-cloud and hybrid architecture decisions, including workload placement, migration strategies, and cost optimization.

• Establish and uphold architectural governance standards for security, compliance, scalability, and resiliency.

• Assess technical, security, and compliance risks.

• Maintain architecture documentation, decision records, and reference diagrams.

• Identify architectural risks, technical debt, and single points of failure, and propose remediation plans.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure implementations align with the approved architecture and design standards.

• Mentor engineers and technical staff in architectural principles, cloud design patterns, and best practices.

• Lead technical discovery sessions with business stakeholders.

• Work with vendors, strategic partners, and external consultants.

• Assist in cloud cost optimization, incident response, root-cause analysis, vendor due diligence, and technical assessments.

• Establish architectural and operational metrics and promote continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure, or systems architecture, with at least 5 years in a dedicated architecture role.

• Proven experience in designing and delivering cloud-native or hybrid architectures at scale.

• Strong comprehension of distributed systems, security architecture, cost governance, and migration strategies.

• Experience in conveying technical decisions to engineering teams and business stakeholders alike.

• Preferred: Experience in multi-cloud environments (AWS and Azure).

• Preferred: Familiarity with DevOps practices, including Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, SST) and CI/CD pipeline design.

• Preferred: Experience in SecOps for regulated industries (healthcare, finance, or similar) with considerations for HIPAA, GDPR, or SOC 2.

• Preferred: Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).

• Preferred: Experience in architecting applications with React and Next.js.

• Preferred: Experience in designing serverless architectures utilizing AWS Lambda.
