Senior Cloud Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance on the formulation and implementation of the client's cloud and infrastructure architecture strategy.

• Act as the principal technical advisor and subject-matter expert for solution architecture within cloud and hybrid environments.

• Deliver technical leadership for cross-functional efforts in discovery, design, and implementation.

• Convert business challenges and requirements into actionable technical architectures and roadmaps.

• Present architectural decisions, trade-offs, and results to leadership and stakeholders.

• Direct the comprehensive architecture and technical design of applications, platforms, integrations, and infrastructure from concept to production.

• Develop reusable architectural patterns, reference designs, and technical standards.

• Assess and suggest platforms, services, hosting models, and build-versus-buy options.

• Design and document data flows, system integrations, APIs, and service boundaries.

• Conduct architecture reviews and offer design guidance throughout the development lifecycle.

• Manage multi-cloud and hybrid architecture decisions, including workload placement, migration strategies, and cost optimization.

• Define and uphold architectural governance standards for security, compliance, scalability, and resiliency.

• Analyze technical, security, and compliance risks associated with proposed architectures and integrations.

• Maintain architecture documentation, decision records, and reference diagrams.

• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to fulfill regulatory and organizational requirements.

• Identify architectural risks, technical debt, and single points of failure, proposing remediation plans as needed.

• Work alongside engineering teams to ensure implementations align with approved architecture and design standards.

• Mentor engineers and technical staff in architectural principles, cloud design patterns, and best practices.

• Facilitate technical discovery sessions with business stakeholders.

• Engage with vendors, strategic partners, and external consultants.

• Communicate architectural decisions, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Assist in cloud cost optimization, incident response, root-cause analysis, infrastructure oversight, and technical assessments.

• Produce architecture designs, documentation, proofs of concept, secure and scalable solutions, and architectural metrics.

• Utilize metrics and lessons learned to enhance architectural standards and practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure, or systems architecture, including at least 5 years in a dedicated architecture role.

• Proven experience in designing and delivering cloud-native or hybrid architectures at scale.

• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, security architecture, cost governance, and migration strategies.

• Proficiency in communicating technical decisions to both engineering teams and business stakeholders.

• Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS and Azure) is preferred.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, SST) and CI/CD pipeline design is preferred.

• Background in SecOps within regulated industries (healthcare, finance, or similar) with considerations for HIPAA, GDPR, or SOC 2 is preferred.

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS) is preferred.

• Experience in architecting applications using React and Next.js is preferred.

• Familiarity with designing serverless architectures utilizing AWS Lambda is preferred.
