Senior Cloud Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance on the formulation and implementation of the Client's cloud and infrastructure architecture strategy.

• Act as the principal technical advisor and subject-matter expert for solution architecture within cloud and hybrid environments.

• Oversee cross-functional discovery, design, implementation, and proof-of-concept initiatives.

• Convert business challenges and requirements into actionable technical architectures and roadmaps.

• Articulate architectural decisions, trade-offs, findings, and results to leadership and stakeholders.

• Direct the complete architecture and technical design of applications, platforms, integrations, and infrastructure from conception to production.

• Develop reusable architectural patterns, reference designs, and technical standards.

• Assess platforms, services, hosting models, and build-versus-buy alternatives.

• Design and document data flows, system integrations, APIs, and service boundaries.

• Manage multi-cloud and hybrid architecture decisions, encompassing workload placement, migration strategies, and cost optimization.

• Establish and uphold architectural governance standards for security, compliance, scalability, and resilience.

• Analyze technical, security, and compliance risks while maintaining architecture documentation and decision records.

• Collaborate with security, compliance, engineering, product, operations, vendors, and external consultants.

• Guide engineers and technical personnel in architectural principles, cloud design patterns, and best practices.

• Assist in cloud cost optimization, incident response, root-cause analysis, infrastructure management, and vendor or acquisition due diligence.

• Set architectural and operational metrics and utilize insights gained to enhance standards and practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure, or systems architecture, with at least 5 years in a dedicated architecture role.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing cloud-native or hybrid architectures at scale.

• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, security architecture, cost governance, and migration strategies.

• Experience in communicating technical decisions to both engineering teams and business stakeholders.

• Preferred: Experience with multi-cloud environments, specifically AWS and Azure.

• Preferred: Experience with DevOps practices using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, SST) and CI/CD pipeline design.

• Preferred: Experience in SecOps within regulated industries (healthcare, finance, or similar) with considerations for HIPAA, GDPR, or SOC 2.

• Preferred: Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).

• Preferred: Experience in architecting applications using React and Next.js.

• Preferred: Experience in designing serverless architectures utilizing AWS Lambda.
