Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and sustain scalable cloud infrastructure services on AWS and Azure.

• Contribute high-quality production code (Go, Python, or comparable languages) to existing cloud services.

• Develop and manage automation and software deployment pipelines for optimal efficiency.

• Implement Infrastructure as Code methodologies using Terraform, Packer, or similar tools.

• Create and enhance secure and reliable software update and release functionalities.

• Oversee production release pipelines, ensuring both stability and efficiency.

• Configure and fine-tune cloud networking elements, including firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and routing tables.

• Monitor and enhance service availability, uptime, and resilience.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve observability, logging, and security practices.

• Execute production deployments and address incidents as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-7 years of experience with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Strong expertise in Go and/or Python.

• Experience in provisioning infrastructure and automating processes using Terraform, Packer, Ansible, or similar tools.

• Hands-on experience in deploying and managing infrastructure within AWS and Azure.

• Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) in AWS and/or Azure.

• Solid understanding of production release pipelines and asset management principles.

• Familiarity with cloud security best practices and the capability to create security documentation.

• Experience in maintaining system security plans for cloud services and their dependencies.

• Proven experience in building and sustaining cloud-based infrastructure for high availability.

• Strong ownership mentality and accountability for production stability.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.

• Cybersecurity experience (preferred).

• Experience in maintaining OS package mirrors, package deployment infrastructure, and custom DEB or RPM packaging (preferred).

• Expertise in Linux networking and Bash scripting (preferred).

• Familiarity with secrets management tools (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault) (preferred).

• Experience with Postgres database management and redundancy (preferred).

• Experience with Makefile-driven build systems (preferred).

• A passion for automation and ongoing improvement of infrastructure efficiency (preferred).

• Experience with modern programming languages (Rust, Go, Typescript, etc.) (preferred).
