Data Infrastructure Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and spearhead the architecture of the enterprise data platform.

• Supervise the layers of ingestion, storage, processing, governance, and consumption.

• Propel the strategic vision for data infrastructure.

• Establish standards for data modeling and lifecycle management.

• Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, machine learning, and business stakeholders.

• Provide a cohesive and scalable data foundation.

• Lead data-platform initiatives of significant scope and complexity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• At least eight years of experience in data engineering, particularly in architecture roles.

• Extensive expertise in at least two major data platforms, including Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.

• Strong comprehension of lakehouse architectures, modern table formats, and streaming systems.

• Practical experience with Spark, Flink, or Kafka at a production scale.

• Proficient in data modeling across dimensional, normalized, and data-vault patterns.

• Experience in implementing governance, lineage, and catalog capabilities.

• Solid understanding of cloud platforms, networking, identity, and cost optimization.

• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Proven track record of leading large-scale data platform projects across teams.

• Familiarity with data mesh or data product architectures.

• Knowledge of semantic layers such as dbt Semantic Layer, Cube, or LookML.

• Experience in regulated industries with strict data residency or audit requirements.

• Relevant cloud or platform certifications (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Public speaking or writing experience on data architecture topics.

• U.S. citizenship, Green Card, EAD, or eligibility for H-1B transfer; new H-1B sponsorship is not available.
