Senior Clinical Informaticist – Public Health Interoperability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Oversee clinical informatics initiatives related to federal and state interoperability projects.

• Convert clinical workflows into business and technical specifications, user stories, and solution blueprints.

• Provide guidance to clients on interoperability standards, such as HL7 FHIR, HL7 v2, CDA, USCDI/USCDI+, and public health implementation guidelines.

• Assist with architecture, product strategy, interoperability testing, and initiatives focused on data quality.

• Promote cooperation among healthcare providers, public health organizations, health information exchanges (HIEs), health data organizations (HDU), electronic health record (EHR) vendors, and software development teams.

• Participate in executive briefings, strategic planning sessions, proposals, industry presentations, and thought leadership initiatives.

• Counsel executive leadership and contribute to the development of a national interoperability strategy.

• Provide actionable interoperability solutions for federal and state clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in Health Informatics, Clinical Informatics, Nursing, Medicine, Public Health, Biomedical Informatics, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of experience in clinical informatics, interoperability, health information exchange, public health informatics, or healthcare consulting.

• Proven proficiency with HL7 FHIR, HL7 v2, CDA/C-CDA, LOINC, SNOMED CT, and USCDI.

• Familiarity with EHR platforms and interoperability technologies.

• Demonstrated capability to lead interdisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with executives, clinicians, and technical stakeholders.

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Public Trust or other federal suitability determination.

• Clinical Informatics or Nursing Informatics certification is advantageous.

• Ability to conduct live virtual interviews independently without the use of artificial intelligence tools, automated response generators, or third-party assistance, unless explicitly authorized.
