Senior Clinical Data Science Lead

📋 Description

• Supervise clinical data science workstreams, ensuring that all deliverables meet established quality and timeline standards.

• Serve as the functional lead across a range of low to moderately complex studies.

• Direct the development and execution of clinical data management strategies to enhance data collection, analysis, review, and reporting.

• Manage multiple studies while providing guidance to less experienced colleagues.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate data science methodologies into clinical trial designs.

• Oversee the analysis and evaluation of clinical data, delivering actionable insights for study decisions and outcomes.

• Offer strategic direction on data governance, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.

• Build partnerships with stakeholders to utilize advancements in data science and technology within clinical research.

• Handle timelines, resource allocation, and financial tracking effectively.

• Acquire a comprehensive understanding of protocol content and interpret essential data and review requirements.

• Modify requirements, processes, and timelines to align with project and business needs.

• Monitor study progress and notify functional and project management of any issues impacting target dates, scope, or budget.

• Timely escalate risks as necessary.

• Negotiate key deliverables and timelines with clients, external customers, and internal teams.

• Provide insights on actual and projected units/hours regarding revenue and resources.

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences, computer science, or a closely related field.

• Generally 5–8 years of experience in Clinical Data Science, Clinical Data Management, or a related discipline.

• An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the specified education and experience.

• Extensive experience in clinical data science, with a strong emphasis on clinical data management, review, and analysis within clinical trials.

• Advanced knowledge of clinical data management, clinical data science, and clinical data review processes.

• Proven project management skills, including experience in managing timelines, resource needs, and financial oversight.

• Comprehensive understanding of protocol content and the interpretation of critical data and review requirements.

• Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated track record of managing multiple studies and cross-functional teams while supporting less experienced colleagues in a dynamic, matrixed environment.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills, capable of analyzing and investigating complex issues, identifying less obvious solutions, and anticipating future challenges.

• Self-sufficient with the ability to establish approaches and guide resources to meet operational and strategic objectives, influencing medium-term goals.

• Proficiency in data analysis tools, statistical software, and data visualization techniques.

• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the capacity to adapt communication styles, influence stakeholders, present and defend complex analyses, and secure approvals on intricate matters.
