Senior Claims Specialist, Construction Defect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Accept claim assignments and assess the applicability of coverage.

• Analyze intricate coverage matters.

• Draft letters for reservation of rights and declination of coverage.

• Establish the method and scope of investigation for each claim.

• Review and oversee claim files to ensure thorough and timely investigation, evaluation, and reserve management.

• Maintain a prompt diary for each claim.

• Assess and adjust claims within the authorized level.

• Report technical issues to supervisors or management.

• Evaluate and oversee litigated claims.

• Decide on future handling and resolution of claims.

• Consult with managers, directors, or the Coverage unit on claims needing assistance or exceeding authority limits.

• Evaluate risk transfer potential and address tender concerns.

• Assess recovery possibilities and pursue recovery efforts.

• Manage assigned claims through prompt and fair resolution in line with company Best Practices.

• Deliver exceptional customer service to agents, insureds, and other stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Construction Defect claims or comparable legal experience.

• A Bachelor’s degree is required or equivalent experience.

• Insurance designation and/or completion of insurance-related courses is advantageous.

• Must obtain and maintain necessary state licenses.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Capability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels.

• Proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite.

• Occasional travel may be necessary.
