Senior CIAM Engineer – Auth0, Okta

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with application teams to create and implement secure integrations with Auth0 and Okta.

• Oversee the onboarding process for applications, covering SSO, MFA, federation, and customer registration.

• Design, develop, and maintain CIAM solutions for millions of customer identities.

• Construct and manage identity infrastructure utilizing Terraform, GitHub, and GitOps.

• Develop reusable tools, modules, and automated processes to facilitate application onboarding.

• Create and maintain passwordless authentication utilizing passkeys, FIDO2, and WebAuthn.

• Set up authentication policies, adaptive access controls, MFA policies, and customer identity journeys.

• Develop federation solutions employing OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and JWT.

• Work closely with security, architecture, and development teams to adhere to enterprise security standards.

• Diagnose complex issues related to authentication, authorization, identity, and federation.

• Provide support for CI/CD pipelines and automated identity platform deployments.

• Create identity standards, reference architectures, and engineering best practices.

• Document solution designs, integration patterns, and operational procedures.

• Assist in modernization efforts focused on automation, self-service, monitoring, and scalability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in implementing and supporting enterprise-scale Okta and/or Auth0 platforms.

• In-depth knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM.

• Significant experience with federation and Single Sign-On (SSO).

• Experience in implementing and supporting Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

• Proven experience in designing and deploying passwordless authentication solutions.

• Strong understanding of passkeys, FIDO2/WebAuthn, device-based authentication, and risk-based authentication.

• Experience in supporting customer registration and account recovery processes.

• Proficiency in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.

• Extensive experience with GitHub, including Git workflows, pull requests, and code reviews.

• Familiarity with GitOps deployment models and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with monitoring and operational tools such as Splunk, ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms.

• If working remotely, must have cable broadband or fiber optic internet service with a minimum of 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
