Senior Category Manager, Generic Injectable & Biosimilar Sourcing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee strategic partnerships with external manufacturers of generic pharmaceuticals, injectables, and biosimilars.

• Create mutual benefits for both Cencora and its manufacturing partners.

• Lead negotiations for supplier contracts and devise sourcing strategies.

• Act as a liaison between external manufacturing partners and internal cross-functional teams.

• Identify opportunities for value creation that align with commercialization and sourcing partners.

• Conduct business reviews with manufacturers and address commercial challenges.

• Represent Cencora in executive-level discussions and engagements.

• Negotiate distribution service contracts on behalf of Cencora Global Procurement.

• Revise contracts and consolidate feedback from stakeholders.

• Build relationships with new and emerging manufacturers.

• Strengthen strategic sourcing relationships with established manufacturers.

• Manage customer expectations and oversee Cencora-related programs.

• Handle trade affairs, new product launches, biosimilars, supply disruptions, inventory management, and supplier disputes.

• Collaborate with teams in Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Replenishment Operations, and Supply Chain Management.

• Favorably represent Cencora with suppliers and advocate for the company’s interests.

• Create profit-enhancing agreements, rebates, and promotional initiatives.

• Learn and promote sourcing programs that enhance value for both Cencora and its customers.

• Carry out other related duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in business administration, accounting or finance, sales, marketing, or related fields.

• Completion of a four-year bachelor's degree program or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• At least seven (7) years of directly relevant and progressively responsible experience.

• Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical wholesale and distribution sector.

• Familiarity with generic injectables and biosimilars.

• Established relationships within the supplier network.

• Understanding of purchasing models and financial aspects.

• Knowledge of filing processes for regulatory approval and familiarity with FDA audits.

• Awareness of Cencora’s distribution network and Specialty GPOs.

• Financial and analytical skills for evaluating deals and negotiating contracts.

• Exceptional negotiation abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

• Practical knowledge of sales, purchasing, supply chain management, and inventory management principles and practices.

• Capabilities in relationship management and contract management.

• Ability to implement processes that lead to satisfactory audit practices.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
