Senior Casualty Examiner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough investigations, assess, reserve, negotiate, and resolve intricate and high-exposure casualty claims, including significant loss cases.

• Recognize coverage issues and compose reservation of rights or denial notices.

• Perform investigations by obtaining recorded statements, reviewing police and medical documentation, and assessing liability and damages.

• Set and uphold appropriate reserves with timely documentation and continuous claims evaluation.

• Oversee litigated cases in collaboration with defense counsel, including strategy formulation, discovery management, and settlement assessment.

• Prepare cases and represent MMG at mediations, arbitrations, and other alternative dispute resolution forums.

• Direct and supervise independent adjusters, investigators, appraisers, experts, and other external service providers.

• Engage with insured parties, claimants, attorneys, agents, medical professionals, and internal business associates.

• Identify subrogation prospects and organize files for recovery.

• Cultivate and sustain relationships with agents, independent adjusting firms, attorneys, and vendors.

• Travel as necessary for essential job functions, meetings, training, or educational sessions.

• Mentor and support the development of other claims professionals through collaboration and informal guidance.

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree and 8–10 years of experience in casualty claims, or a comparable mix of education and experience.

• Proven experience in managing high-exposure, high-severity, and large loss casualty claims, including complex injury and litigated cases.

• In-depth understanding of casualty coverages, policy interpretation, and reserving methodologies.

• Demonstrated capability to independently manage litigated cases, including collaboration with defense counsel, risk assessment, and strategy development for resolutions.

• Strong negotiation capabilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and professional coverage correspondence.

• Proven ability to independently handle complex workloads while adhering to deadlines and service expectations.

• Exemplary professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure.

• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Ability to work collaboratively with internal partners and external service providers.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to approximately 25% as required by business needs.
