Senior Casualty Claims Specialist – Specialty Human Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee a substantial inventory of claims to assess compensability and liability, encompassing both pre-litigation and litigation claims.

• Organize and execute claim investigations to verify coverage and ascertain liability, compensability, and damages.

• Identify and negotiate suitable claim settlements and reserves within the designated authority.

• Participate in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary.

• Communicate moderately complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insured parties, claimants, and external stakeholders.

• Approve payments according to the assigned authority limit and ensure prompt disbursement.

• Maintain precise and comprehensive claim files, including correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Generally, 8 or more years of experience in handling property and casualty claims, preferably in casualty.

• Experience with abuse and fatality claims is highly preferred, though not mandatory.

• Completion of or ongoing progress toward a professional designation is preferred, such as Associate in Claims (AIC).

• Experience in commercial lines claims handling is preferred but not required.

• Holds an active adjuster's license, ideally in CT, FL, KY, NC, NM, SC, and TX; preferred but not mandatory.

• Ability to operate within significant limits and authority on assignments that involve higher technical complexity and coordination.

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling procedures.

• Familiarity with industry laws and regulations.

• Capable of organizing and prioritizing caseloads to ensure timely claim resolutions.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to cultivate relationships and lead negotiations.

• Proven capability to handle confidential information with discretion.
