This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +4 more states.
• Oversee a substantial inventory of claims while assessing compensability and liability.
• Organize and execute claim investigations to verify coverage and ascertain liability, compensability, and damages.
• Identify and negotiate suitable claim settlements and reserves within defined authority limits.
• Participate in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as required.
• Convey moderately complex coverage and settlement details to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
• Approve payments within designated authority limits and ensure prompt processing.
• Maintain precise and comprehensive claim files, encompassing correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.
• Execute other assigned responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Political Science, Pre-law, Paralegal, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Typically, a minimum of 3–6 years of experience in handling property and casualty claims.
• Completion of or ongoing progress toward a professional designation, such as Associate in Claims (AIC), is preferred.
• Capacity to operate within significant limits and authority on complex assignments.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Understanding of insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling processes.
• Familiarity with industry laws and regulations.
• Ability to organize and prioritize caseloads to achieve timely claim resolutions.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, including relationship-building and negotiation leadership.
• Demonstrated capability to manage confidential information with discretion.
