Senior Camera Module Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Taiwan.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Oslo project team to establish camera specifications and the bill of materials, including components like sensor, lens, IR filter, cover glass, FPC, and connectors.

• Share responsibility for component selection, second-source strategies, and decisions related to cost optimization.

• Develop and implement design verification plans in conjunction with Oslo engineers.

• Supervise reliability testing and investigate image quality concerns.

• Conduct structured root-cause failure analysis in collaboration with suppliers.

• Steer camera modules from initial prototyping through to mass production alongside the Oslo hardware team.

• Work closely with suppliers to enhance active alignment, calibration, yield improvement, and production testing.

• Handle daily technical interactions with development partners and suppliers located in Taiwan and China.

• Set up incoming quality controls and risk mitigation strategies.

• Expect to travel on-site frequently during New Product Introduction (NPI) and production phases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience in developing camera modules from the concept stage to mass production.

• Extensive technical expertise in image sensors, optics, component selection, reliability testing, and design verification planning.

• Demonstrated success in troubleshooting complex image quality problems and conducting root-cause failure analysis.

• Proficient in English to facilitate global cross-functional collaboration.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Photonics, or equivalent practical experience.

• Fluency in Mandarin is highly preferred for effective local supplier management.

• Familiarity with MIPI interfaces, ISPs, and image tuning is advantageous.

• Knowledge of video conferencing hardware or high-volume consumer electronics is a plus.

• Must be able to work in or be based in Taiwan.
