Senior CAD Designer – Water/Wastewater

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Create civil drawings for infrastructure projects related to water and wastewater utilities

• Establish, design, and manage intricate civil piping and grading models

• Execute detailed grading designs using feature lines, grading objects, and corridors

• Develop complex pipe layouts along with structure and fitting tables

• Collaborate with electrical engineers to coordinate site layouts for electrical duct banks

• Validate survey data, GIS information, electronic deliverables, and record drawings

• Conduct vehicle tracking analysis and perform visual clash detection

• Carry out surface analysis and calculate cut and fill volumes

• Work across disciplines to implement designs under the guidance of a licensed engineer

• Ensure client expectations, standards, and timelines are met as outlined in the BIM Execution Plan

• Offer mentorship and share knowledge with less experienced team members

• Adapt to and carry out additional tasks as project requirements change

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in civil design or a related field

• Proficient in Civil 3D and AutoCAD

• Experience with both plan and profile development

• Skilled in creating complex site models utilizing pipe and pressure pipe functionalities

• Capable of performing survey checks and verifying electronic deliverables

• Strong understanding of surface creation and analysis

• Familiarity with feature lines, grading objects, and corridors

• Experience in underground piping design and coordinating electrical duct banks

• Knowledge of project design gates, milestones, and necessary detail levels

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities

• Associate’s degree in civil engineering technology, civil drafting, or a related field, or equivalent experience

• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening
