Senior C++ Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architectural initiative to upgrade legacy user interface applications, converting outdated interfaces to scalable, contemporary designs.

• Design, maintain, and improve desktop applications for Microsoft Windows operating systems.

• Set up testing strategies, develop component unit test plans, and enhance software testing processes.

• Create significant new features, refactor existing codebases, and suggest structural modifications to data structures, business objects, and UI components.

• Conduct code, design, and test reviews, promoting research and development effectiveness and zero-defect objectives.

• Manage sprint and release planning, work-effort estimations, risk evaluations, and schedule development.

• Execute root cause analysis on intricate defects and collaborate with Technical Support and customers to address critical product challenges.

• Generate technical specifications, system architecture designs, and high-level feature outlines.

• Guide cross-functional team members and coordinate with Technical Support, Quality Assurance, and Product Line Management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 8–10+ years of professional programming and software analysis within a commercial business setting.

• 8–10+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft C++.

• Extensive, hands-on expertise in designing, modernizing, and testing desktop applications for Microsoft Windows operating systems.

• Proven experience in modernizing legacy UI applications and refactoring older desktop codebases.

• Familiarity with ISAM, database design principles, and SQL.

• Advanced experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

• Strong analytical, self-management, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels and directly with customers.

• Preferred: experience with relational databases like SQL Server, C# and .NET, and Windows Forms applications.

• Excellent planning, organizing, and multitasking abilities.

• Proven capability to lead, motivate, and mentor engineering peers.

• Detail-oriented approach committed to quality and zero-defect software.

• Proactive with a strong commitment to following through on architectural obligations.
