Senior Buyer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Initiate purchase orders to acquire materials that support manufacturing and various business operations.

• Establish and sustain effective cross-departmental relationships while communicating about timelines and activities impacting the supply chain.

• Collaborate with manufacturing by comprehending build schedules and overseeing supply chain activities to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of parts and components; follow up with suppliers regarding purchase orders and manage expectations around delivery dates.

• Grasp material specifications and quality standards; work together to resolve quality issues with suppliers.

• Cultivate supplier relationships and manage the scheduling of date adjustments.

• Guide and mentor purchasing team members, directing Buyer activities.

• Train new team members by providing advice and resources.

• Negotiate advantageous terms with suppliers that affect pricing, quality, and payment conditions.

• Monitor supplier performance, offer stakeholder feedback, and make necessary adjustments to the supplier list.

• Work with Finance to address supplier payment concerns.

• Represent Plug Power in a professional manner.

• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, along with five (5) or more years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience in a technology manufacturing setting is highly preferred.

• Capability to operate independently in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.

• Proven analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

• Excellent communication abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly advanced Excel skills.

• Skillful in managing projects and effectively juggling multiple tasks.

• Ability to exemplify high standards of professionalism.

• Exempt employees are expected to work as many hours as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities, which may include exceeding eight hours per day and five days or 40 hours per week.
