Senior Business Travel Consultant – Out of Hours

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Assist with the ALTOUR travel operations outside of regular working hours

• Help customers experiencing travel disruptions or those requiring urgent bookings

• Respond to client calls and emails in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner

• Offer expert guidance on all travel-related inquiries

• Uphold the customer service standards set by the daytime team

• Collaborate effectively as part of both internal and external teams

• Issue, reissue, and recalculate both international and domestic airfares

• Identify cost-effective global routes and arrange bookings for flights, rail, hotels, and ground services

• Provide additional quality control for daytime processes when call volumes allow

• Monitor global travel news and inform senior management of potential travel risks

• Generate and deliver traveler-tracking reports to clients during significant events

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in a GDS, preferably Sabre, though cross-training will be available for the right candidate

• Essential to have Fares & Ticketing Level 1 & 2 (or equivalent experience)

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

• Strong geographical and product knowledge of various destinations and airlines

• Up-to-date with global events and their potential travel implications

• Excellent organizational skills along with outstanding customer service and communication skills are vital

• A flexible mindset and a willingness to think creatively to devise innovative travel solutions

• Ability to work beyond normal hours and thrive under pressure

• Maintain a calm, empathetic, and reassuring demeanor during stressful travel disruptions
