Grant Manager – Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee a robust portfolio of foundation, corporate, and government prospects.

• Create customized dossiers for funders, detailing their giving history, program priorities, key decision-makers, and timelines for cultivation.

• Implement moves management from the identification of prospects through to qualification and solicitation.

• Identify new relationship avenues via LinkedIn and funder networks.

• Maintain a proactive grant tracking system to aid in revenue forecasting.

• Manage the complete process of submitting proposals, Letters of Intent (LOIs), and funder reports.

• Write and submit 3 to 5 tailored funding applications each week.

• Build and sustain the Master Proposal library.

• Collaborate with the finance team on grant budgets and budget narratives.

• Generate weekly pipeline reports and keep a master deadline calendar.

• Identify deadline risks and resource gaps.

• Convert outcomes and evidence into compelling narratives for funders in collaboration with program and finance teams.

• Spearhead the adoption of AI tools to enhance research and drafting efficiency.

• Report directly to the Chief Development Officer while collaborating closely with the CEO.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in institutional fundraising, with a focus on grant writing and prospect research.

• Preferably background in workforce development, education, or economic mobility.

• Proven success in proposals that achieve funding.

• Comfortable being evaluated based on win rates and funds raised.

• Advanced instincts in prospect research and proficiency in using LinkedIn, funder databases, and public philanthropic data.

• Experience in building and justifying grant budgets in collaboration with a finance team.

• Proficient in a CRM and project management tools; Salesforce and Asana are preferred.

• Experience in developing a comprehensive fundraising system.

• Strong understanding of funder perspectives and the ability to align organizational goals with program officer evaluation criteria.

• Available during core U.S. Eastern business hours.

• Capable of working independently as a remote consultant.

• Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing AI tools to streamline prospect research and create an efficient grant workflow.

• Ability to articulate a specific AI-enabled workflow that has been built or utilized.
