Senior Business Systems Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Finance and Accounting leaders to establish outcomes, clarify requirements, challenge assumptions, prioritize demands, and link local decisions to upstream and downstream effects.

• Facilitate discovery, current and future-state mapping, requirements definition, functional design, and solution options for Invoice-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Record-to-Report processes.

• Configure and enhance NetSuite roles, permissions, workflows, custom records, saved searches, reports, dashboards, forms, approvals, SuiteAnalytics, and associated functionalities.

• Convert business needs into functional and technical specifications, while partnering on SuiteFlow, SuiteScript, SuiteCloud Development Framework, APIs, integrations, and data migrations.

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes; oversee critical jobs and integrations; troubleshoot transaction, foreign exchange, reconciliation, reporting, and performance issues; coordinate resolutions.

• Take ownership of functional design and validation of data flows between NetSuite and platforms such as CRM, billing, banking, procurement, tax, payroll, reporting, and planning.

• Integrate segregation of duties, access controls, change controls, audit trails, reconciliations, and evidence requirements into solution design and implementation.

• Generate business requirements, functional designs, process maps, data mappings, acceptance criteria, test plans, UAT scripts, release documentation, operating procedures, and support knowledge.

• Evaluate NetSuite releases and vendor updates, coordinate regression testing and readiness, manage stakeholder communications, and facilitate adoption.

• Lead Tier 2–3 analysis for complex production issues, identify root causes, implement sustainable fixes, document known errors, and minimize recurrent incidents.

• Recognize, assess, and deliver governed AI and intelligent automation initiatives within Finance.

• Direct technical interactions with NetSuite, ACS, integration partners, and other vendors while retaining internal ownership of requirements, decisions, knowledge, and outcomes.

• Mentor BSAs and delivery partners, promoting reusable patterns, documentation, and architectural standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 7 years of experience in business systems analysis, ERP, financial systems, or related fields, with substantial hands-on responsibility in NetSuite within a complex enterprise setting.

• In-depth functional understanding of the complete accounting lifecycle, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, Banking and Payments, Tax, Expense Management, Intercompany Accounting, Multi-Entity Consolidation, Foreign Currency, Revenue Accounting, Financial Reporting, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

• Practical knowledge of NetSuite's core and advanced financial features and functionalities.

• Proficient in defining integrations and data flows using REST or SOAP APIs, web services, middleware or iPaaS platforms, file-based interfaces, and event-driven patterns.

• Experience leading requirements gathering, functional design, testing, UAT, release readiness, and production support throughout the full solution lifecycle.

• Familiarity with SOX controls, IT general controls, segregation of duties, audit evidence, and financial compliance requirements.

• Strong analytical, facilitation, written communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.

• Capable of maintaining composure during close-cycle incidents, prioritizing competing demands, and effectively communicating business impacts and recovery actions.

• NetSuite certification or equivalent demonstrated expertise is preferred.

• Experience with SuiteScript 2.x, SuiteCloud Development Framework, SuiteFlow, SuiteAnalytics Connect, SuiteQL, Advanced PDF, and NetSuite2.com data sources is preferred.

• Familiarity with subscription, billing, revenue recognition, tax, banking, consolidation, intercompany, foreign exchange, and multi-subsidiary operations is preferred.

• Experience with integrated platforms such as Salesforce, Zuora, procurement tools, banking integrations, Solution 7, or financial planning and reporting solutions is preferred.

• Knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606, including application through NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management.

• Experience utilizing AI, machine learning, or intelligent automation within Finance with defined controls, governance, monitoring, and value measurement is preferred.

• Experience in a global, publicly traded, SaaS, or technology company is preferred.
