This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +14 more states.
• Provide support for financial tracking, reporting, and analysis for the Director of Business & Planning.
• Collaborate with Finance, ITS, and various departments within APA Publishing.
• Deliver sales and financial reports to multiple departments.
• Develop and submit the budget for APA Publishing.
• Present financial data to key stakeholders and the Publishing Management Team.
• Prepare monthly financial packages and financial reports tailored to specific departments.
• Investigate inaccuracies and make necessary adjustments to financial information.
• Collect data and produce KPI-based reports to support strategic decision-making.
• Calculate, manage, and distribute royalties for books and journals.
• Assist with semiannual forecasting of revenue and expenses.
• Verify financial information in Planful.
• Aid in assembling the annual APA Publishing budget.
• Oversee Agile technology projects and formulate business cases for new initiatives.
• Coordinate with product owners and developers on PUBS team priorities.
• Generate monthly financial reports for stakeholders in APA Books.
• Handle contract-related processes, including approvals and uploads to the legal database.
• Provide ad hoc reports, such as sales reports segmented by product, region, and country.
• Collect and transform data into comprehensible reports for strategic decisions.
• Utilize emerging technologies and practices to enhance and streamline Financial Management processes.
• Carry out assigned ad hoc financial reporting, special projects, and provide backup support.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in data gathering/analysis, budgeting/finance, and/or business analysis.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Capability to convey financial results and variances/metrics to senior management.
• Proficient in articulating key business metrics and drivers.
• Advanced skills in Excel spreadsheets.
• Intermediate proficiency with GL software such as Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Navigator is preferred.
• Intermediate skills in PowerPoint.
• 1–2 years of experience in writing/modifying queries and generating reports using Salesforce.
• 1–2 years of experience with JIRA or other project management tools.
• Eligibility for remote work is subject to APA’s Flexible Work Policy and approval.
• Remote workers may not be located in Alaska, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, U.S. Virgin Islands, Washington, or Wyoming.
