Market Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Monitor news, product launches, and structural changes within prediction markets and perpetual futures.

• Observe sentiment changes and emerging trends in X, Discord servers, Telegram groups, and other trader communities.

• Analyze volumes, open interest, funding rates, and market share across prominent trading venues.

• Relate recent events to their effects on Pyth and communicate timely insights with the team.

• Keep an updated perspective on the competitive environment, including oracles and data providers.

• Investigate prediction market and perpetual futures protocols to grasp their utilization of price data.

• Identify users, their requirements, and the deficiencies in existing solutions.

• Develop dashboards and datasets for monitoring these markets.

• Transform research insights into actionable product ideas for Pyth.

• Assess opportunities utilizing market and on-chain data.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business development teams to prioritize and validate ideas.

• Evaluate launched initiatives against the initial thesis.

• Create research reports for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Share findings and recommendations with leadership.

• Establish a repeatable research process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as an analyst at a cryptocurrency research firm or in a research/data capacity at a perpetual futures exchange or prediction market.

• In-depth knowledge of the structure of prediction markets and perpetual futures.

• Active engagement in trader communities and adept at discerning signals from X, Discord, and Telegram.

• Skilled in data analysis tools (SQL, Python, Dune, or similar).

• Exceptional writing ability with a history of research that influences decision-making.

• Analytical thinker and self-motivated, capable of independently managing a research agenda.

• Adaptable to the fast-paced environment of startups and shifting scopes.
