This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Assume responsibility for finance operations for two Australian companies, which include an e-commerce distribution business and a property assets business.
• Oversee daily bookkeeping and general ledgers, which encompass transaction coding, journals, accruals, prepayments, inter-company entries, and transactions involving directors or shareholders.
• Execute daily reconciliations for bank, credit card, loan, finance accounts, and petty cash, rectifying discrepancies while maintaining a complete audit trail.
• Handle accounts payable tasks, such as invoice matching, supplier reconciliations, payment schedules, and management of credit accounts.
• Administer accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, payment allocation, reconciliations, aged receivables, and follow-up on overdue accounts.
• Process Australian payroll on a fortnightly basis, covering deductions, PAYG withholding, leave accruals, superannuation, STP reporting, and ledger reconciliation.
• Prepare GST reconciliations, BAS workpapers, and PAYG withholding information for review and lodgement by an external accountant or tax agent.
• Monitor inventory, stock movement, stock costs, landed costs, inventory levels, and identify slow-moving or excess inventory using MYOB EXO and Shopify.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders, supplier pricing, warehouse receipts, and supplier invoices; investigate discrepancies in stock and pricing.
• Reconcile sales, payments, refunds, fees, and inventory from Shopify.
• Develop budgets, cash-flow forecasts, revenue and expense forecasts, inventory purchasing forecasts, payroll forecasts, and tax/BAS cash-flow plans.
• Conduct month-end reconciliations and generate financial, inventory, purchasing, and budget-versus-actual reports, including variance analysis.
• Identify risks related to cash flow, expenditure, inventory, and financial control, and communicate necessary management actions.
• Create banking payment templates for director approval, ensuring confidentiality, financial integrity, and adherence to approval controls.
• Undertake other duties relevant to the position as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Essential 5-6 years of Australian bookkeeping experience supporting Australian businesses.
• Required Australian bookkeeping or accounting qualifications or certification.
• Advanced proficiency in MYOB EXO and the capability to work independently without extensive system training is essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations, budget models, and large datasets.
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting practices, GST, BAS, PAYG, payroll, superannuation, and STP requirements is essential.
• Proven experience in managing Australian accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, supplier accounts, and 30-day credit terms is essential.
• Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, purchasing, purchase orders, goods received, and supplier management is essential.
• Experience in preparing budgets, cash-flow forecasts, budget-versus-actual analysis, and monthly management reports is essential.
• Familiarity with Xero is highly regarded.
• Experience with Shopify and the reconciliation of e-commerce sales, payments, refunds, fees, and inventory is highly regarded.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are essential for direct interaction with management, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and financial integrity, along with discretion in handling confidential information, are essential.
• Ability to work independently across multiple companies, manage competing priorities, and adhere to Australian deadlines is essential.
• Capability to identify discrepancies, unusual transactions, and emerging financial risks, as well as suggest practical corrective measures is essential.
• Successful completion of a practical assessment covering MYOB EXO, reconciliations, GST and BAS, payroll, inventory, purchasing, Excel, budgeting, and forecasting is required.
• Work from home.
• Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM AEST/AEDT (adjustments for daylight saving time will be made).
