Senior Bookkeeper

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive bookkeeping processes for various client accounts

• Ensure the maintenance of precise financial records and bookkeeping systems

• Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and loans

• Manage the processes for accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Prepare and assess balance sheet reconciliations along with profit & loss reports

• Reconcile undeposited funds and enhance sales reports derived from net deposits

• Collaborate with different POS systems and financial data sources

• Assist with payroll journal reconciliations and bookkeeping tasks related to payroll

• Engage with clients in a professional manner concerning bookkeeping issues

• Ensure accuracy in bookkeeping aligned with US accounting standards

• Aid in month-end and year-end bookkeeping activities

• Effectively leverage AI and automation tools to boost efficiency while preserving accuracy

⛳️ Requirements

• Certification in QuickBooks Online

• At least 5 years of full-time bookkeeping experience

• Strong background in US bookkeeping and data capture

• Experience across various industries

• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online with recent practical experience

• Solid understanding of balance sheet reconciliations

• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, assets, liabilities, and loan reconciliations

• Experience in payroll journals and payroll reconciliation processes

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Strong grasp of financial reporting and bookkeeping best practices

• Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

• Reliable high-speed internet connection and a professional home-office setup

• Minimum dual-screen workstation with a dedicated workspace

• Willingness to work US Pacific hours on a permanent basis

• Highly advantageous qualifications include:

• Familiarity with California sales tax

• Experience in construction, real estate, restaurants, retail, wholesale, or entertainment sectors

• Knowledge of US corporate tax environments

• Experience working with multiple POS systems

• Strong skills in AI literacy and workflow optimization
