Senior Bookkeeper

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Manage daily finance operations, which encompass accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), accounts inbox, channel postings, reconciliations, month-end processes, management accounts, and VAT.

• Oversee the accounts inbox to handle supplier invoices, statements, remittances, and internal inquiries.

• Code and process supplier invoices within Xero for approval purposes.

• Prepare weekly or bi-weekly supplier payment runs for authorized release.

• Reconcile supplier statements, refunds, credit notes, bank accounts, card statements, marketplace remittances, and payouts from payment providers.

• Generate invoices, wholesale deposits, and proforma invoices in Xero, ERP, and NuORDER.

• Post sales and upload invoices for A2X, Shopify, eBay, Global-e, and John Lewis.

• Follow up on overdue wholesale accounts and maintain aged debtors.

• Manage multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange differences.

• Ensure ERP stock movements are consistent with stock and cost-of-sales figures in Xero.

• Execute month-end closing tasks, including accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Maintain the fixed-asset register.

• Prepare monthly management accounts, royalty reports, and channel-level sales and margin data.

• Compile quarterly VAT returns under Making Tax Digital for review and submission.

• Manage import VAT and duty, including postponed VAT accounting.

• Prepare year-end schedules and assist external accountants.

• Implement AI tools for accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Maintain Xero bank rules, receipt capture, and approval workflows.

• Document finance processes and create playbooks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience in bookkeeping or accounting.

• At least 2 years of experience supporting businesses in the UK.

• Proven end-to-end ownership of AP and AR processes in Xero.

• Knowledge of UK VAT regulations and Making Tax Digital.

• Experience handling independent month-end closures.

• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets, including lookups, pivot tables, and reconciliations.

• Capability to work independently during UK hours.

• Strong written communication skills in English.

• Experience with Xero, ERP systems such as Zedonk, NetSuite, SAP, or similar, as well as A2X, Shopify, eBay, Global-e, John Lewis, NuORDER, payment providers, receipt capture methods, spreadsheets, and corporate bank accounts.

• Qualifications such as AAT Level 4, part-qualified ACCA or CIMA, or Philippine CPA are advantageous.

• Xero Advisor certification is a plus.

• Familiarity with AI tools, ERP/Zedonk, A2X or similar connectors, and experience in retail, e-commerce, fashion, multi-currency, and marketplace reconciliation is desirable.
