This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Enhance revenue and forge enduring relationships with clients while representing the scientific products and services of Thermo Fisher Scientific.
• Propel sales growth and oversee significant academic, government, and industrial accounts within the designated territory.
• Broaden existing business, cultivate new opportunities, and meet sales objectives.
• Engage strategically with accounts, conduct prospecting and cold calls, and take part in scientific events.
• Implement sales strategies encompassing prospecting, qualification, value-based selling, and closing.
• Position solutions by leveraging product, application, and workflow knowledge; deliver technical presentations and demonstrations.
• Manage sales prospects through pipeline management, forecasting, next steps, and closing plans.
• Sustain customer relationships and engage key stakeholders across accounts.
• Participate in sales meetings, seminars, and trade shows.
• Collaborate with internal teams and channel partners.
• Generate demand via office hours, one-on-one meetings, hall walking, business reviews, and scientific seminars.
• Establish scientific intimacy with academic laboratories and capture market share from competitors.
• Maintain territory performance through funnel management, account planning, and KPI metrics.
• Regularly update Salesforce CRM for precise forecasting, pipeline health, and visibility into business performance.
• Prepare quarterly account and territory plans, including mitigation strategies to address gaps.
• Share market insights, competitive intelligence, and best practices with internal stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Biology; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Over 8 years of experience combining wet lab bench work and life science sales experience.
• Strong technical understanding of customer applications and workflows.
• Experience in a matrixed, collaborative setting.
• Analytical and strategic planning skills.
• Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong business acumen with the capability to convert data into actionable sales strategies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, and Microsoft Office.
• Solid understanding of sales funnel management and forecasting.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 25–30% within the assigned territory.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs. independently.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
