
Senior Billing Tax Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Prepare and dispatch monthly billing based on the instructions developed by partners.
• Generate necessary billing and accounts receivable reports.
• Record daily deposits and liaise with partners and clients regarding billing questions.
• Handle write-offs, billing corrections, and transfers.
• Collaborate with the corporate finance/accounting team at Cerity Partners.
• Compile tax returns, which includes downloading tax documents via DocuSign or SafeSend and Lacerte, editing, and electronically submitting returns.
• Execute tax processing tasks across various software platforms.
• Scan and photocopy tax returns and relevant documents.
• Prepare and distribute tax organizers during the tax season.
• Assemble and send copies of client tax returns.
• Work together with the firm's tax and administrative staff.
• Be available for overtime during tax deadlines, including weekends, as necessary.
• Uphold strict confidentiality and apply sound judgment when dealing with client, partner, and firm financial information.
• Assist with additional administrative tasks and responsibilities as required.
• At least 6–7 years of experience predominantly focused on billing in a mid-to-large-sized CPA firm, combined with tax administrative experience.
• Experience in a paperless office setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Skilled in using Adobe Acrobat.
• Familiarity with Lacerte, CCH Workstream, and SafeSend is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills with an emphasis on efficiency and precision.
• Capability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities at once.
• Proactive, adaptable, and ready to assist wherever needed to support the team.
• Strong team-oriented mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals of diverse personalities and work styles.
• Capacity to stay calm, focused, and productive during high-pressure situations and tax deadlines.
• Self-motivated and capable of managing oneself with sound judgment and discretion.
• Strong dedication to teamwork and collaboration.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding the financial information of clients, partners, and the firm.
