Senior BigCommerce Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nicaragua.

📋 Description

• Create and execute intricate headless eCommerce solutions utilizing React and Next.js, integrated with BigCommerce.

• Oversee the complete technical architecture of BigCommerce implementations, including modular components, storefronts, APIs, integrations, data flows, security, scalability, and performance.

• Collaborate with UI/UX teams to define and validate a proof of concept for an omnichannel storefront.

• Set development standards, architectural patterns, and best technical practices.

• Provide leadership and mentorship to developers.

• Perform code reviews.

• Diagnose and resolve issues in frontend, backend, API, and cloud environments.

• Enhance frontend rendering, API utilization, caching, and integrations.

• Work closely with designers, stakeholders, QA, and DevOps teams.

• Keep abreast of eCommerce trends, BigCommerce functionalities, and industry best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in web development.

• At least 5 years of direct experience in BigCommerce development.

• In-depth knowledge of BigCommerce architecture, platform capabilities, APIs, and eCommerce development.

• Demonstrated ability to design the architecture for enterprise solutions.

• Proven experience in architecting omnichannel eCommerce solutions, including integrations and data synchronization across storefronts, sales channels, and backend systems.

• Advanced expertise in React.js and Next.js for contemporary headless storefront development.

• Strong command of TypeScript and Tailwind.

• Familiarity with server-side languages such as Node.js.

• Extensive experience in designing and integrating REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, and webhooks.

• Proven history in SQL and NoSQL database design and management.

• Prior experience with cloud development platforms like AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.

• Proficiency with Git, code versioning, and branching strategies.

• Previous involvement with technical SEO best practices for eCommerce platforms.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities.

• Exceptional planning, prioritization, and time-management skills.

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and self-motivated approach.

• Analytical mindset focused on data-driven decision-making.
